About Me

photo of Susan and her daughterHi! Welcome to Mercy Abiding! I am Susan Kromrie, a Christian, wife, mom to eight, and Mimi to five (so far!). My family and I live on a ranch in southwest Missouri. We love the rural lifestyle and are surrounded by nature, dogs, cats, cattle, poultry and a bit of chaos.

My desire is to glorify God in all that I do, and proclaim the mercy and freedom I am finding in Jesus.

I publish a new blog post weekly, and send out a weekly newsletter to my subscribers (see below for information).

Lifestyle

In addition to this blog, I have a full-time job as a librarian and I have homeschooled for 25 years in two states. Being a mom to a large family, having outside the home jobs, and homeschooling has led me to be super excited about organization, especially time and schedules. I love a good spreadsheet and will add things to my to-do list just to cross them off. As I have gotten older, I have learned the importance of taking time for refreshment of body and soul.

My all-time favorite refreshment is to travel. I love to see new places, experience new things, and share them with my friends and family. I have traveled within my state, around the country, and out of the country. Camped, driven, flown and even taken a cruise! I am especially fond of travel lists (surprise, surprise).  I blog about our trips, and the trips we have taken as a family, with hints for travel with different ages of children.

When I am not traveling, I love to read, hang out with the family, do puzzles, and play board games. We also spend a lot of time in the kitchen, because we love to eat.

About Mercy Abiding

Mercy Abiding is a blog about learning to live in God’s mercy, and to enjoy his presence. I blog about my health journey, home and family, travel ideas, and organization.

I struggle with obesity, diabetes, and depression, and blog about my journey to better health. And it is a work in progress. Sometimes I feel that I spend lots of time circling the same piece of real estate. But there is progress as long as I don’t give up the journey.
